The episode is a 1944 installment of the Duffy's Tavern series, first broadcast on May 2, 1944, starring Ed Gardner and Shirley Booth.
Duffy's Tavern, a New York bar where the elite meet to eat
Characters: Archie, Duffy, Eddie, Dennis Day, Finnegan, Mrs. Day, Virginia
Listen for: Archie phoning a string of women from his address book while Dennis Day waits, and Dennis singing an Irish song for the regulars
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
