What happens
Archie decides to save money and visits a bank to make a ten-dollar deposit, but he is put off by the bank's Christmas Club rule, which locks deposits until December. Back at the tavern, Archie buys a cheap watch from Finnegan, sells it to Joe at a profit, and makes a series of wagers on horses with his bookie, Max. Duffy's Tavern is a radio comedy series, and this episode was originally broadcast on March 16, 1949, starring Ed Gardner and Shirley Booth, with Charlie Cantor and Florence Halop in supporting roles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
