What happens
Archie, the proprietor of Duffy's Tavern, played by Ed Gardner, is writing a script for television and hopes to feature the guest star, Marlene Dietrich, in it. This episode of Duffy's Tavern aired on March 9, 1949, and its cast includes Ed Gardner, Shirley Booth, Charlie Cantor and Florence Halop. Archie drafts a spy story that he hopes will suit Dietrich, and his efforts are repeatedly interrupted by customers and commercial messages from the tavern's sponsors. The tavern's regulars, including Eddie and Finnegan, offer their own comments and distractions as Archie works on the script.

Listen for: Archie pitching his television spy story to Marlene Dietrich as the regulars interrupt him
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
