What happens
Archie tries to win Mrs. Piddleton, a wealthy widow with a hundred thousand dollars, at Duffy's Tavern, which he has dressed up as a tea room. To seem a family man he borrows a boy named Morton as his son, and Clifton Finnegan is pressed into playing a doctor. Duffy's Tavern is a radio comedy series, and this episode was originally broadcast on November 23, 1951, on CBS, NBC Blue and NBC. Ed Gardner and Shirley Booth lead the cast, with Charlie Cantor and Florence Halop also appearing. The plan grows more tangled as Archie invents stories about his late wife and the boy's health, and Mrs. Piddleton listens with growing suspicion.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
