What happens
Archie inherits half of a racehorse named Stumblebum from Ryan Lanhama McGurk, a condemned prisoner who has just been executed, and he is convinced that his luck has finally turned. Miss Duffy and Finnegan are skeptical as Archie talks up fortune-telling weigh-in cards, odd job stories and his supposed childhood as a jockey. Archie buys a bet on the horse, and the tavern's regulars are pulled into his excitement. The episode is an Old-time Radio Researchers release of Duffy's Tavern, first aired on November 30, 1951, on CBS, NBC Blue and NBC, with Ed Gardner, Shirley Booth, Charlie Cantor and Florence Halop in the lead roles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
