What happens
Archie, the regular at Duffy's Tavern, announces that he is marrying Miss Millicent Van Schnuck, a wealthy society woman he met through a lonely hearts club and has been corresponding with by mail. Archie is excited about the future and talks with Eddie, the bartender, about love, marriage and the wedding plans. He orders a diamond ring, drafts an invitation and debates honeymoon destinations while Eddie and the other patrons offer their opinions. Archie rehearses a mock ceremony at the tavern, with Eddie reading the vows and Finnegan acting as the bride, and the plans grow increasingly chaotic. Duffy's Tavern is a radio comedy series, and this episode was originally broadcast on April 27, 1949, with Ed Gardner, Shirley Booth, Charlie Cantor and Florence Halop in the cast.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
