What happens

Steve Mitchell, a foreign correspondent sent by a commissioner, arrives in Saigon to investigate the sinking of three ships belonging to the Malayan Star Lines, which carried American rehabilitation supplies. He questions the line's manager, Brevant, and the lone survivor of the second sinking, a cook named Dixon. At a casino Mitchell meets Leanna, whose brother Matique is close by, and he is soon confronted by hired thugs and a plantation owner named Sarat. Dixon's testimony and the cargo's source raise more questions. Brian Donlevy stars in the role of Steve Mitchell in this 1949 episode of the series Dangerous Assignment, first broadcast on July 16, 1949.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
