What happens

George Burns worries that television will end his career, and his wife Gracie Allen comes up with a plan to make him a television star by having him act like a cowboy. Their plan leads them to Hopalong Cassidy, a cowboy star who is wary of retiring. The episode is from the Burns and Allen series, first aired on May 5, 1949, with Gracie Allen, Bea Benaderet, Meredith Willson and Mel Blanc in the lead roles. Gracie visits Cassidy in person, posing as a Texan, and the two begin discussing a possible act for the next picture. Confusion about Trixie Lorraine's identity and a mistaken belief that she is a horse follow.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
