What happens
Gracie Allen decides to host her weekly card game with a homemade cake and enlists George Burns in the kitchen after a series of baking failures. George reluctantly reveals a surprising talent for making ladyfingers, and he asks Gracie to keep it a secret. Gracie's friends admire the treats, and soon the matter is complicated by a visit from Mr. Judson, a Texan who is planning to attend the county fair. The story follows George's embarrassment as word of his baking begins to spread through their neighborhood. This is the 1949 Burns and Allen radio episode, broadcast on April 28, 1949 on CBS and NBC, with Gracie Allen and Bea Benaderet among the cast.

Listen for: George's reluctant admission that he can make ladyfingers, and the chaos of Gracie's baking attempts
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
