What happens
Gracie Allen finds an old trunk of George Burns' vaudeville clippings and the two reminisce about their early days, including how he first fell for her act in San Francisco. Their memories turn to Eddie Cantor, who once gave them their start on his radio program. Gracie learns that Eddie is overworked and neglecting his wife Ida, so the couple devise schemes to slow him down. Their plans quickly grow tangled with misunderstandings, flowers, and a supposed poison, as Eddie's home life becomes the center of the comedy.
Hollywood, California, in the late 1940s, at the homes of George and Gracie and Eddie and Ida Cantor, and at Eddie's busy office.
Characters: Gracie Allen, George Burns, Eddie Cantor, Ida Cantor, Miss Titus, Bill Goodwin
Listen for: Gracie's plan to make Eddie jealous, and the mix-up over the flowers and the 'poison' soup.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
