What happens

George Burns is left to put on the show alone when Gracie Allen is delayed at home, where her grandfather is sick with a high fever. George arrives at the Allen house to find it full of odd happenings, including strangers living upstairs and a grandfather who slides down the banister. A quarantine officer blocks his exit, and he tries several ways to slip out in time for a date with a redheaded girl. The story is a Thanksgiving-themed comedy told through the couple's rapid-fire banter and mishaps.

The Allen house in Hollywood, around Thanksgiving, where a sick grandfather and a strange household keep George from leaving.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
