What happens

Gracie Allen and George Burns are the central figures in this 1941 Christmas episode of the Burns and Allen radio series, which first aired on December 23, 1941, on CBS and NBC Radio. Gracie tells a rambling fairy-tale style story about a clever little girl named Gracie who visits her mother by way of the woods, and a series of comic exchanges follows with characters including Herman the duck. Meredith Willson and Mel Blanc also appear, and the transcript covers only the opening portion of the broadcast, which ends with a visitor in a red suit and white beard arriving to wish everyone a merry Christmas.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
