What happens

George Burns and Gracie Allen host bandleader Kay Kyser for dinner at their home, a Christmas-season episode of their radio program. Gracie is determined to find a husband for her friend Tootsie Sagwell, and she sets Kay up with Tootsie under a Southern belle persona. Kay, who cannot see well without his glasses, is left to chat with the mysterious guest, while George and Gracie push their wartime holiday ideas of buying war bonds and stamps. The guide follows the first part of the program, which is set in the Burns home and focuses on the matchmaking and the dinner.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
