What happens

George Burns and Gracie Allen host a comedy episode in which Gracie hears that Cecil B. DeMille plans to replace Bing Crosby in his new picture with George. George, enjoying a bath, is delighted by the news and begins daydreaming about a swimming pool and a ranch. Gracie, meanwhile, takes a job as a cook at DeMille's house, where DeMille is entertaining movie executives. Bill, a neighbor, is drawn into the plans, and the couple's hopes and rivalries with Crosby drive the story forward.

Listen for: Gracie's eager misunderstandings about George's new picture and the comic cooking mix-ups at DeMille's dinner.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
