What happens

Gracie Allen decides she wants to be a painter, convinced that great artists must suffer to produce masterpieces. Her husband George Burns listens to her plans for a life of hardship, while she gathers art supplies, bothers a weasel meant to hold her canvas, and seeks encouragement from friends. The episode is part of the Burns and Allen series, which first aired on January 4, 1950, on CBS and NBC Radio. Gracie's neighbor Blanche Morton and others weigh in on her new hobby, and George is pressed into posing for a painting that does not turn out quite as flattering as he hoped.

The Burns home in Hollywood, with excursions to a museum and a neighboring house.

Listen for: Gracie's logic about suffering for art and the comic exchanges over the weasel and the mixed paint.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
