What happens

Gracie Allen returns from Paris full of talk of romantic Frenchmen, and her friend Blanche Morton agrees that their husbands have grown dull since the honeymoon. Gracie proposes a whimsical law requiring a husband to court his wife again every year, and then she sets out to win George Burns back. Her plan involves a black lace negligee, a pickle-eating uncle, and a series of attempts at the perfect romantic evening. The Burns and Allen program aired on September 28, 1949, with George Burns and Gracie Allen in the leads, alongside Bea Benaderet, Meredith Willson and Mel Blanc.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
