What happens

Gracie Allen persuades George Burns that their show should move to Monday night and become dramatic, since Cecil B. DeMille's radio theater airs then. George resists, insisting he is a comedian, while Gracie arranges for dramatic coach Elizabeth Stevens to train him. Stevens has George put on long underwear for a session, and the laundress and Bill Goodwin also get drawn into the scheme. George and Gracie argue over whether comedy or drama suits the program, with Gracie insisting George has real acting talent. The episode is part of the Burns and Allen series, first broadcast on December 26, 1944, on CBS and NBC Radio, with Gracie Allen, Bea Benaderet, Meredith Willson and Mel Blanc in the leads.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
