What happens

Gracie Allen, a housewife and newspaper columnist, learns that a musical picture role may go to a singer, and she sets out to keep her husband George Burns in the running. Her plan is to persuade Frank Sinatra to leave town so the studio cannot reach him. Burns and Allen is a radio comedy series; this episode aired on 1946-11-07 on CBS and NBC Radio, with Gracie Allen, Bea Benaderet, Meredith Willson and Mel Blanc in the cast. Gracie visits Sinatra at his home, where the two trade jokes and exaggerated claims about singing, and Sinatra's suspicions about her motives come into play.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
