What happens

Gracie Allen and George Burns host their household at home, with Gracie reading Louella Parsons's column and George trying to get the paper. Phil Baker arrives from New York looking for an apartment, and the couple reminisces about their vaudeville days when Phil and George competed for Gracie. Phil mentions the trouble of finding housing in Los Angeles, and Gracie raises the idea that George should replace Clark Gable in a picture, which George firmly rejects. Gracie then visits Louella Parsons to trade gossip and asks her to promote George for the role.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
