What happens

George Burns runs for city councilman, and he tries to win votes by singing at the Hollywood Bowl. His wife Gracie Allen arranges the plan after learning that Lawrence Tibbett, their new next-door neighbor, is scheduled to give a concert there that night. George's singing has already driven away a prospective tenant, so the neighbor is far from pleased. Gracie then sets out to persuade Tibbett to hand his concert over to George. The episode is from Burns and Allen, first broadcast on May 16, 1944, with Gracie Allen, Bea Benaderet, Meredith Willson and Mel Blanc in the cast.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
