The episode is from the Burns and Allen radio series, first broadcast on 1940-08-19 on CBS and NBC Radio, with Gracie Allen and George Burns in the leading roles.

A Hollywood radio studio and the Burns and Allen home, with a broadcast in progress.

Characters: George Burns, Gracie Allen, Elsie Trelafaz, Dr. Kelso, Artie Shaw, Mel Blanc, Bea Benaderet, Meredith Willson

Listen for: Gracie's bewildered attempts to find George before the show, and George's increasingly absurd explanations for his lateness.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
