What happens
George Burns is upset when his partner Gracie Allen praises Joe Bagley, a party guest who stole the spotlight at a party the night before. Gracie and Joe are secretly arranging a television set as a birthday present for George, which George misreads as a plan for Gracie to team up with Joe. George visits the cigar store and then his psychiatrist, Dr. Miller, for advice. Gracie tries to cheer George up by reminiscing over old press clippings about their act. The episode is part of the Burns and Allen radio series and aired on April 15, 1948, with George Burns and Gracie Allen in the leading roles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
