What happens

George Burns buys a bouquet of yellow roses for his wife Gracie Allen, but the shop owner, Joe Bagley, persuades him to leave them behind. When Bagley's own husband-and-wife customers later bring up a movie outing, George suspects Bagley of lying about where he was the night before. The episode is from the Burns and Allen series, originally aired on April 22, 1948, on CBS/NBC Radio, with Gracie Allen, Bea Benaderet and Meredith Willson among the cast. Gracie and George pursue the matter as the evening wears on, and the household confusion about the flowers and the film grows.

A corner flower and cigar shop, then the Burns home and an apartment hotel, in a small American town.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
