What happens

George Burns is a devoted reader of the adventure magazine Cowboy Love Tales, and he and Meredith Wilson eagerly await the next issue. Gracie Allen, unhappy with his cowboy talk and fascination with the magazine, finds herself at odds with him over it. When a postman mentions a movie studio seeking a real cowboy, George decides he wants the job, and Gracie begins planning how to get him an audition. Gracie invites a studio representative to dinner, hoping to impress him with George's supposed western background. The evening brings a series of comic misunderstandings as George tries to play the part of a seasoned cowboy. This is the Burns and Allen Maxwell House coffee program, broadcast on the radio in 1946.

The Burns home, and later the Burns home again for a dinner with a movie studio representative.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
