What happens
Gracie Allen and George Burns host a meeting of the Beverly Hills Uplift Society, where the club chooses a play called The Folly of Molly O'Malley. After every theater turns them down, Gracie proposes staging it on the Maxwell House program at NBC. The women then try to persuade George to take the lead role, first by flattering him and later by trying to recruit a different star. The Thursday night show, Maxwell House Coffee Time, is broadcast on CBS and NBC Radio in 1946 and stars Gracie Allen and George Burns, with Bill Goodwin, Meredith Willson and Mel Blanc.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
