New York City, primarily Broadway and the surrounding neighborhoods including the Felder Bakery and a garage on Conway Street, circa 1950.

Characters: Detective Danny Glover, John (fellow officer), Louis Felder (bakery owner), Morris Bernstein (victim), Sid Norman (bakery employee), Gabe Kirby (suspect), Richard Peel

Listen for: The detective's methodical questioning of witnesses and suspects as he pursues the lead of the baseball cap, and Gabe Kirby's evasive answers about his whereabouts the night of the murder.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
