What happens
Detective Danny Clover investigates the murder of Joseph Brady, a well-to-do inventor, killed in an alley by a bullet fired at close range. A neighborhood drunk named Herbie Lennon is found with the murder weapon and no memory of the shooting, while a refined woman named Sally Carr confesses to the crime, claiming she killed Brady to protect Herbie. As Clover digs deeper, he uncovers a web of deception spanning five years.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
