What happens
Detective Danny Clover encounters Joe Keto, a man recently released from prison, in a Times Square subway tunnel late at night. The next morning, Clover is called to investigate Keto's murder in the tunnel. His inquiries lead him to Holly Parker, a woman who was making coffee for Keto in his Harlem apartment, and to an old newspaper clipping about a 1938 robbery case in which Keto received a twelve-year sentence instead of the one-year term his lawyer Ralph Ferguson had promised him.
New York City: Times Square subway tunnel, Harlem apartment on Amsterdam Avenue, and the East River Athletic Club
Characters: Detective Danny Clover, Joe Keto, Holly Parker, Ralph Ferguson, Grant Murray, Lee Baker, Mickey
Listen for: The tension between Clover and the recently-paroled Keto in their first meeting; Holly Parker's emotional reaction to learning of Keto's death; Ralph Ferguson's dismissive attitude toward the murdered man and his former clients.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
