What happens
Detective Danny Cauber investigates when Rhoda Flynn, convinced her father was poisoned despite a coroner's report and exhumation proving otherwise, repeatedly comes to him for help. The case takes a new turn when Dr. Bernard Burke, Rhoda's stepfather, reports that expensive gold used for dental work has been stolen from his office, and reveals that Rhoda hired private investigator Ben Elliot to look into the theft rather than reporting it to police.
New York City, primarily Broadway and the surrounding neighborhoods; a dental office run by Dr. Burke on 147th Street
Characters: Detective Danny Cauber, Sergeant Taggley, Rhoda Flynn, Dr. Bernard Burke, Mildred Burke, Ben Elliot, Frank Norman
Listen for: The complex family dynamics between Rhoda, her mother Mildred, and stepfather Dr. Burke; the stolen dental gold and its connection to Rhoda's obsession with her father's death; Frank Norman and his relationship with Rhoda.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
