What happens

Detective Danny Clover investigates the murder of entertainer Irene Hall, found strangled in her basement apartment on West 49th Street. A traveling salesman named Myron Lehigh claims he discovered her dead when arriving for a scheduled date, but his vague alibi and suspicious behavior make him a prime suspect. As Clover digs deeper, a second body surfaces, and evidence emerges that could point to an entirely different killer.
