Detective Danny Clover investigates the murder of Georgie Beck, a nervous pickpocket who has been missing for a month. Clover traces Beck's movements from the Bowery to an upscale Park Avenue party hosted by the wealthy Verilane family, where Beck was seen dressed formally. When Beck is found dead from stab wounds, Clover must uncover the circumstances that led him to that fateful party and identify his killer.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
