What happens

Detective Danny Clover responds to a murder at a Broadway dance palace where Georgia Gray, a young dancer, has been stabbed with a jackknife. Georgia dies before revealing her killer's identity, but evidence points to Nicky Gannon, a dancer with ties to Broadway's underworld. Danny investigates whether Nicky killed his former girlfriend out of jealousy or if darker forces in the criminal world were responsible.

Broadway and the surrounding neighborhoods of New York City, including a diamond dance palace, a tenement on Mott Street, and police headquarters.

Characters: Danny Clover, Georgia Gray, Nicky Gannon, Nicky's mother, Benny, Fran Holland

Listen for: The distinctive noir narration that frames the investigation of Georgia's murder, moving from the glittering dance halls to the gritty tenements where the real motives begin to emerge.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
