When a jazz singer named Billy Bailey is also found dead, stabbed in his apartment, Clover must uncover the connection between the two murders and find the killer before another life is lost.
New York City: police headquarters, the Region Hotel, Club Domino in Greenwich Village, and various street locations; also references to Middlesex, Vermont
Characters: Detective Danny Clover, Elizabeth Price, Johnny Price, Shaw, Mr. Miller, Billy Bailey, Dr. Stensky, Night clerk
Listen for: The atmospheric opening and closing narration that captures the mood of Broadway at night; the tender interrogation of the grieving seventeen-year-old Johnny; the revelation of the killer's motive rooted in family loyalty and loss.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
