When he collects the package from a nervous woman in room 502, he discovers it contains a diamond necklace that is being used as blackmail against her. Holiday offers to carry the fake package himself to draw out the blackmailer, and follows a man who trails him to a coffee shop where a tense confrontation ensues.

A city hotel (the Maris/Morse Hotel) and a coffee shop.

Characters: Dan Holiday, Susie, Mrs. Terese Clemens, Blackmailer

Listen for: A tense standoff in a coffee shop as Holiday confronts the mysterious man who has been following him, with threats of calling the police and revelations of Holiday's private detective credentials.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
