What happens
Dan Holiday receives a mysterious letter from Simon Andrews requesting that Holiday kill him, offering $50,000. When Holiday arrives at Andrews' house to investigate, he discovers Andrews has actually paid $25,000 to a middleman named Benny Franklin to arrange his own murder. Now that Franklin has been killed in what appears to be an underworld slaying, Holiday must track down the unknown assassin before Andrews becomes the victim of his own twisted plan.
A large house on South Marvin Boulevard; the city streets and homes where Dan Holiday investigates the mystery.
Characters: Dan Holiday, Simon Andrews, Susie, Torey, Benny Franklin, Mrs. Franklin, Scott
Listen for: The noir atmosphere of a man trapped by his own suicidal scheme; Holiday's attempts to uncover the identity of a hired killer working in the shadows; the revelation that Andrews' middleman has been murdered, cutting off the only link to the assassin's identity.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
