What happens
Boston Blackie and Mary Wesley dine at Lee Chow's Chinese restaurant after Blackie ignores a mysterious warning not to go. They discover Lee Chow murdered in a back booth. Inspector Faraday arrives to investigate, but a phone call congratulating Blackie on the killing makes him the prime suspect. The real culprits emerge: a crooked publishing scheme selling memorial ads for war dead, with the murderer eliminating those who threaten to expose the fraud.
Lee Chow's Chinese restaurant in the city, later Boston Blackie's apartment and Carol Ward's apartment
Characters: Boston Blackie, Mary Wesley, Inspector Faraday, Carol Ward, George (Lee Chow's son), Lee Chow, Smith, Weaver
Listen for: The clever deduction about Carol Ward's colorblindness, the fake war memorial book scheme, and how Blackie uses psychology to extract a confession from the guilty party.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
