What happens
Photographer Clyde Winston is shot dead in his studio at four o'clock. Boston Blackie investigates when a model named Evelyn Anderson, who had an appointment with Winston just before his death, becomes a suspect. A sawed-off shotgun hidden in the car of Evelyn's boyfriend Bill Jackson complicates matters as both face police suspicion.
Winston's photography studio and the Harry Conover model agency in the city, with scenes at a restaurant and police headquarters.
Characters: Boston Blackie, Inspector Faraday, Mary, Evelyn Anderson, Bill Jackson, Clyde Winston, Joe King, Harry Conover
Listen for: The clever detail of how the shotgun was smuggled into the locked studio in a model's hat box, and Boston Blackie's reasoning about the crime's impossibilities.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
