What happens

Danny Jackson, a collection man for slot machine racket owner Archie Grant, double-crosses his boss by skimming $25,000 from collections and hiding it in a subway locker. When he claims to have been held up, his girlfriend Cindy loses the locker key by dropping it into one of Grant's machines. Danny forces Boston Blackie to break open the locker, only to find the money missing. Grant kills a storekeeper named Feld who wanted the machines removed from his shop, and now Blackie must gather proof of Grant's guilt.
