What happens
Florence Wells, the temperamental star of a musical comedy show, calls Boston Blackie to her dressing room claiming she's in desperate trouble and fears something will happen to her soon. Blackie arrives for their 7:30 appointment, but before he can speak with her, Florence is found dead in the street, eight blocks away from the theater, despite having been seen entering her dressing room just minutes before.
A theater with dressing rooms and backstage areas, and the surrounding city streets.
Characters: Boston Blackie, Florence Wells, Barbara, Tom, Mary, Inspector Faraday, Joe, Mr. Brown
Listen for: The mystery of how Florence Wells left her locked dressing room and ended up dead in the street; the tensions between Florence, Barbara, and Tom that set up the motive for murder.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
