What happens

Slade and Sailor arrive in Havana after a failed trip to Key West, where they were supposed to collect a cargo. In Havana they meet Shannon, the hotel proprietor, and a poet named Mario, who wants the merchandise they brought and says it is a matter of life and death. A young woman who came to Shannon's place with a request is later found dead in a locked room, killed by a fighting bird. Slade and Sailor are drawn further into the affair as more people turn up dead and the nature of the merchandise becomes clear. The story is part of the Bold Venture series, starring Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
