The Tears of Night Matter - Ep 5

From Hollywood, it's time now for... Johnny Dollar. Is your name Teddy Davis? Who is it? Swazzly? My name is Johnny Dollar, I'm in her apartment. What? Hey, what? Now listen to me, I'm an insurance investigator, and I've been a couple of murders here.

Murders? In Elisa's apartment? She's gonna need you and all the help she can get to bring her out of it, mostly you. I've called homicide and they're on their way and I might be pretty rough for her.

I'll be right over. Tonight and every weekday night, Bob Bailey and the transcribed adventures, The man with the action-packed expense account, America's fabulous freelance insurance investigator, Yost truly, Johnny Dollar. Expense account submitted by Special Investigator, Johnny Dollar, to the Universal Adjustment Bureau, Hartford, Connecticut.

The following is an accounting of expenditures during my investigation of the tears of night matter. It was a long morning, and a lieutenant of police thought I was crazy when he met me in the apartment with two dead men and the hysterical woman.

My face was bruised and black and blue from the beating that Deadman had handed me the night before. The lieutenant, his name was Brady, had a time getting hold of Hillary Fuchs to back up my story.

But Teddy Davis was a different matter. He showed up with a doctor and lawyer. And through their combined efforts, Elise Wendover was removed not to police headquarters but to a private hospital. It was obvious from Potter's test that Mrs. Wendover could not have fired the 45, which ended the lives of Philiantobe.

Obvious to me, Lieutenant Brady was a skeptical man. You stay right there and keep your trap shut. I'll figure out what to do with you in a minute. Alright, come on, get those bastards out of here.
