Hello BBC, you will have withdrawn Thomas speaking with Herbert Walden recording. That's the sound of the first sound of our own act, and it's a sound that usual night trade in our positions here is coming in.
Right above us, the sky has suddenly become as bright as day. The German flares are burning, hanging on the motionless overhead in the night sky. An Ashanad of flittering silver lights coming down from them.
Here on the ground we feel that if we are standing under the flares on a paired round, every tree, every house seems fairly enough, and our old flag is getting purer than fierce. The bomb's going down, it's way to the left of us, but even back to the ground around it's shaking viciously and Walden's recording truck.
Now rocking on its spring!
That was the 60-second preview
