Here is the news read by Richard Wessel. Paris has been liberated. A communique just received from General Koenig announces that it has been liberated by Finnish forces of the interior. They were the most marvelous sights I've ever seen coming down the boulevard into the heart of Paris.
Everywhere we went people came running out of their house and out of the shops, shaking hands with us. Children were held up close to be kissed and they hung around our necks. People give us flowers, tomatoes, everything is the most marvelous for taking part in the city.
These are the just medways joys, just listen to these crowds. The generals now turn to face the square in the huge crowd of Parisian. This being presented to people, this being received, this being received.
Even while the general is marching, even while the general is marching into the kidney mode.
That was the 60-second preview
