Sheriffs Assistant

The Signal Oil Program? The Whistler. That whistle is your signal for the Signal Oil Program? The Whistler. I am the Whistler, and I know many things, for I walk by night. I know many strange tales, hidden in the hearts of men and women who have stepped into the chattelies.

that Grace Rowley, Willard's wife, had unexpectedly inherited a half million dollars. His whole future was at stake, and the end of the week found him desperate. He was known to readers of the Little Magazines as a clever writer, but now the famous Rowley Whitt had failed him.

When he tried to write, he found himself inventing explanation. When he tried to sleep, he outlined sin denials. His writing, of course, had earned him more fame and money, and he realized now that for everything, almost down to a cigarette he was dependent upon his devoted wife.
