Rogers (xxxx) Song - Red River Valley ( )

And now, here to greet you with a song in the story, is Roy Rogers. From this valley they say, You are golden, we will miss your dry life. Well, good evening folks, mothers and fathers in all you little buckaroos.

Hear that music there playing? That sure is a final song. And it reminds me of a story. Funny thing how a song seems to go together with something that happened to you. The good old Red River Valley.

You know, while back Dale and Pat and me went down the Barlow, Texas to take part in a rodeo. and that right smack in the heart of the Red River Valley. Well sir, the final Bronx busting event was on and a friend of Pat's was riding in it.

Final Fairback Bronco busting event, introducing Tom Weathery, challenged his mom's busy, great ride, over to the cute boys. Tom Weathery, that was Pat's dream. He was having himself quite a time. He sat that Bronx like it was part of him.

Then all of a sudden he seemed to go limp. He let go of the halls and wrote them to law. Oh, for a minute everybody thought he'd been thrown, but when he didn't get up, we ran out to help him.

One looked told us why he didn't get up. Tom Wetherby was dead. I'll tell you, it just don't make sense. It just don't make sense. Tom Wetherby never had no heart trouble. Well, that's what the doc says it was.
