Phantom Stage Coach

The Phantom stage goes by Get along, get along, keep moving, get along, keep moving, get along, keep moving, get along The Phantom stage goes by At the Vaucesseco Dilly hits the bin and crashes down the shield And it's hard to scream with fright as they run into the night The Phantom stage, that monster can't get it straight

The night stage out of Canyon City wrecked in 65 Eleven souls were on the court and not one left alive All the timers used to shift when they heard the Brisbane tale They said all Nick himself that night was seen along the trail Twas a gal the name of Sue that the trouble started through

And a box of golden nuggets so it's old She had turned the gap a-down and that knife was leaving town So he planned to get the woman and the girl I'll be alone, pick me up on the side Tell it hist-the-thin' crashes down the shield I was a scream with pride, and I'll be running through the night

The phantom's saying he's not much The first shot he's a driver as the coach got through the rim He'd last a man, and I was just what they had before to go He slipped and overshot the rim and disappeared below At dawn they set the ground but the wreck was never found And when you passed the spot you're not alone

Far at midnight on the tree Who list of lozels tell the deal As they whispered that the devil took his own He'll only move it wrong The phantom's dead, the vultures sir Till it hits the bed and crashes down the shoe And his father screamed with pride As they run me through the night
