Some time ago, Phil Harris made a movie called Wabash Avenue for 20th Century Fox Studio. At the time, the head of the studio, Darryl Zannick, Promise to call Phil for another picture job if his performance in Wabash Avenue was satisfactory.

As we look in the Harris home, Phil is waiting for the call. Phil, may I please use the phone? No. Nobody's using this phone until I get that call from Zannock. But Phil, you've been sitting at that phone for a year and a half now.

I don't think he's going to call. It hasn't been a year and a half. It's only 17 months, three weeks and four hours. That's the trouble with you, women. You don't have any patience. Phil, I don't like to put a damper on this, but perhaps Mr. Zannick didn't like your performance.

Oh, come now, Pamela. You've been doing jack knives in the shallow end again. How could he help liken my performance? Now look, Phil, be honest with yourself. If Mr. Zanak had liked you in the picture, he would have called you.

Look, Connie, did it ever occur to you that he might not have seen the picture yet? Well, it's been playing for a year and a half. It's played the first run, second run, third run, fourth run, and fifth run theaters.

Well, maybe he's waiting to see it on television. You'll never see that picture on television. It wasn't that bad. I can't understand Xanax's indifference. When I was at the studio, he kept me busy all the time. In the morning I worked on the picture and in the afternoon I curried his polo ponies.
