By transcription we take you now behind the scenes of a police headquarters in a great American city. We're under the cold, glaring light. We'll pass before us the innocence, the vagrant, the thief, the murderer.

This is the line up. Hey, how's it going? Okay. Are you shopping?

Uh-huh, just looking dull upstairs. This is the thing, yeah. Here you can't brother pass this final exam. Yeah, you're gonna be pissed at with quarantine. So why do you put in for us? I think I'll grab a seat.

Okay, I'll see you later. You people on the other side of the wire in the audience room, may I have your attention, please? Thank you. Each of the suspects you will see will be numbered.

Call off the number, their name and charge. If you have any questions or identifications, please remember the number assigned to the prisoner, to the call his name. If you're sure, not too sure, the suspects have been held.

Questions I ask these suspects are merely to get a natural tone of voice, so they're not paid too much attention to their answers, as they often lie. All right, bring on the line. All right, boys, move it to the understage.

Turn it face front. Hand it to side. Now, I call your number, step up. Look straight ahead and talk up. Talk up loud enough so the people in the back of the room can hear you.

Okay, number one, Harry Connors, robbery. Well, you live, Harry. You're 65, 14, metal, and heavier. South. What do you work? I don't. What was your last job? I was your Stephen O' Stephen O' Stephen O' Horst.
