Riley Invites Himself to His Boss's New Year's Eve Party

It's new, it's amazing, it's pro. Pro Shampoo. Yes, Procter & Gamble's new radiant cream shampoo in the handy tube. Pro brings you the life of Riley. Well, the shampoo that removes unsightly dandruff in as little as three minutes leaves hair more radially clean, radially lovely, presents the life of Riley with William Bendix as Riley.

The coming of the new year is a time for taking stock, for evaluating the past and determining just what progress we are making toward the goals we have set for ourselves. It was just a few days ago that Chester A. Riley seated himself at the kitchen table, sharpened a pencil with a bread knife, gave it a good lick, and began making a personal

inventory on the back of an unpaid bill. Let's see. at the start of 1948, $59.20, salary at the end of 1948, $59.20. Cash on hand at the start of 48, zero. Cash on hand at the end of 48, $4.

Cash on hand at the end of 48, zero. Let's see, children at the start of 482, children at the end of 482. I'm going to rut. Wives at the start of 481, wives at the end of 481.

No progress there either. Oh, well, that's silly. I better cross that out. Now, let's see. Oh, yeah, friends. Friends at the start of 48, Jim Gillis and Digger Odell. Friends at the end of 48, Gillis and Digger Odell.

Riley, what are you writing there? You know what, we ought to get out more and meet people. We certainly ought to. Well, let's do something about it this new year's eve. I'm in the mood for a party.
