Tarzan and the Diamond of our share. While in camp near Tuanbaka, the mountain of sunrise, Tarzan and his friends are captured by a band of Hesseherians and proceed toward the forbidden city of our share under their escort.

Arriving at the foot of Tuanbaka, Ha'kei Roo, the leader of the Hesseherians, is rescued from the coils of a huge prehistoric python by Tarzan. In the Sunut or car, which is to convey the party over the volcanoes of him and down into our share, the Hesi-Harians remove their skeleton masks.

As the captives enter the city and approach the great pyramidal temple of Ma'achu, they hear voices raised in weird chant. As he listens, the blood drains from Ha'Kirou's face. He turns to meet the cool questioning gaze of Tarzan.

And is it, I feel, a chant of death, O Tarzan, It is sung for thee and I companions. He will be offered to Machu at the beginning of the moon. But because my life is thine, I shall intercede for thee and I friends, with the Artev Sutan.

Come, follow me into the temple of Machu. What is the matter with Wolf Tarzan? He stares into space as the watching something. Whoa! Oh, oh, you're here! I am coming. How those great doors open before us.

It must be done by machinery, I don't know. Wait on. You hear that dull, ratchet sound? No ten men could move those massive doors. It's been spooky in here. Those little blue lamps don't give much light.

Even if there been plenty of them. We are approaching another great door, Arthan. Oh, gee, here, strangers. He stands before the portal of the chamber of fifteen, and the throne of the Ates to ten.
